Because of the Leap Year this month it has caused a glitch to occur on certain systems known as 'Y2K+10'. The problem for PS3 owners is that today the internal clock for the classic PS3's thinks it's the 29th FEB. This messes life up because everything falls out of sync for the PlayStation Network. The trophy server goes to find the data but can't find it and therefore wipes it. Games won't save, data is lost etc. Me and a buddy have been working on solutions and found how to solve the lost trophy data.

We found that if we went back old school before data was automatically synced it could be recovered. Basically five easy step, here:

  • Step 1: Configure your PS3's date.
  • Step 2: Sync with server.
  • Step 3: Load selected game up on PS3.
  • Step 4: Quit game when 0% And the name of your game appears under 'Trophy'.
  • Step 5: Now sync again. Your percentage should be back to normal.

While Sony simply recommend not to game on your PS3 and whatever you do do not connect it to the internet and stay clear of PSN so your system cannot sync until they fix the problem. Read more here
